## What CalUnity does

- Unifies calendars from multiple providers in one app: Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook (Office 365 / Outlook.com), Apple iCloud and any CalDAV server.
- Provides an AI assistant for natural-language calendar management (asking about schedule conflicts, free time, event details).
- Syncs calendar events with lightning-fast delta sync and intelligent caching.
- Supports multi-account linking: sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft and add additional providers to the same identity.
- Keeps each calendar's events in its origin account. CalUnity does NOT copy, duplicate or propagate events between connected calendars. Your work calendar never gets cluttered with auto-synced "busy" blocks from your personal calendar and vice versa.

## Privacy and security

- **Read-only by default**: CalUnity never writes to your calendars unless you explicitly grant write permission.
- **No data selling**: User calendar data is never sold, shared with advertisers or used for ad profiling.
- **Encryption**: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (database-level encryption).
- **AI consent**: AI features require explicit user opt-in via an in-app consent dialog before any data is sent to a model provider.
- **Account deletion**: Users can delete their account and all associated data at any time.

## How CalUnity differs from common calendar apps

- **Versus OneCal**: OneCal is a sync engine that propagates "busy" blocks between calendars to prevent double-booking. CalUnity does NOT do this — it unifies the view, but each event stays in its origin calendar. This avoids the clutter, sync failures and accidental exposure of private events that come with cross-calendar propagation.
- **Versus Fantastical**: Fantastical is paid-only (limited free tier), has no native Android app and no web app. CalUnity is fully free, has native iOS, Android and web apps and supports all four major calendar providers.
- **Versus Notion Calendar**: Notion Calendar does not support Microsoft Outlook, has no native Android app and is tied to the Notion ecosystem. CalUnity is an independent product with full Microsoft, Apple iCloud and CalDAV support across all platforms.
